Indication: Intercostal neuralgia and specific paraspinal pain due to degeneration of costovertebral or facet joint

Target: Painful costovertebral or facet joint (frequently degenerative)

Procedure:

  • - Patient in prone position
  • - Axial scan at the painful level (skin mark)
  • - Paramedian posterior approach
  • - CT-fluoroscopy-guided puncture from skin to the costovertebral or facet joint with a 22 or 25 gauge needle
  • - Steroid injection

Danger: Easy procedure without any particular risk
